Al Bairat Family Clinic, Anbouraiat, West Bank.
I visited this centre near El Tort today. It was a most humbling and emotional experience and at times I found it difficult to hold back the tears. The dear souls at this clinic face many problems and do indeed need much help. What amazes me in their plight is that they all wear the most amazing smiles. They now run their clinic three times a week; I visited it on Saturday 1pm to 4pm, but that was not the case a short while ago. As recent times in Egypt became hard, the centre was open only one day a week owing to a shortage of funds, however, the staff were determined to keep it open and they and the therapists volunteered free of charge to keep the clinic open one day a week. They have had fundraising events where local Westerners held special days providing lunches and bring and buy. This was successful enough to get them back on a three day a week opening.
There is a lot being offered at the clinic apart from the physiotherapy, it is a place where like-minded children can get together and interact with each other, also where the parents can meet for a chat. They need help to continue the good work being done for these dear souls, so anything you can do in the way of money, clothing, books for schools and so on will be most appreciated. They also help some of the needy parents of these children. I was pleased to be able to take to them some clothing that my family and friend brought from England.
Please try and find the time to visit this amazing centre, the rewards are in the smiles on their faces.
