Amenemipet (Ipy) Tomb TT41 - Khokha
The tomb officially opened to the public on the 11th January 2014 and was attended by the Governor of Luxor, the Minister of Culture and the Director of Antiquities for Luxor. It is a very nice tomb, part finished inside. It has some very nice wall paintings, False Doors, Reliefs, Statues and ceilings; even the unfinished parts are very interesting.
Amenemipet (Ipy) was the Chief Steward of Amun during the Reign of Ramesses I and Seti I.
Some literature have this tomb as being in Sheik Abd El Qurna but it is indeed in the slightly less known area of Khokha near to the Asasif.
There are two ways to get to this tomb; one is from the Nobles car park opposite the Ramesseum and to take the pathway to the right for a little distance over the hill or the shorter rout from the main road sign posted to Khokha Tombs. – Nefer Renpet, Dhuti MS & Nefer Sekhru. I have been informed that the ticket for Mena & Nakht tombs will now include Amenemipet TT41.
The whole area of the Nobles, Sheik Abd El Qurna, Khokha and the Asasif are changing all the time with more and more tombs being opened to the public. It only ever gets better with every reason for tourists to come and explore.
Come to Luxor, lot to see.
