Al Bairat Family Clinic
Today was a great fund raising occasion at a private house in Gazira. The aim was to raise money to run the one-day a week clinic held at Western Naga Tod.
The clinic provides much needed help for the very many poor families, orphans, disabled and disadvantaged children with no fathers or other parental support. At this clinic held near Tod on Saturdays between 1 and 4-pm there are therapists to help with the handicapped, people there to help with the family needs and a kinder garden where children similarly alike can play together and learn from each other and feel a part of the community.
The Clinic Assembly manages to distribute around 500 to 700 food bags annually. Also cattle and a number of sheep donated by Philanthropists are donated each year (around 500 kilos) for the needy. The assembly also helps with clothes, bags, shoes and books for orphans and poor children.
The day was a great success and there was a very good turnout of people wishing to help. It is believed that they rose in access of 3,000LE. I certainly hope it was in access of this amount. Well done everyone.

I translated this article fr. An Italian team working at the Ramesseum.
Just half a day to give the first surprises: there are Canopic jars! They are made of limestone, finely worked. Before he can see three, in the middle of the room, shortly after the other two. Yes, there is a problem: the canopy should be four, as the sons of Horus represented on the covers, but there's one too many. At first glance the answer: one of them is a false canopy, no cover, evidently belongs to another quartet of which three have yet to discover it missing or have been stolen when the tomb was violated. The tomb is very similar to the more than 20 already discovered and investigated in this area, dating from the outset to the Third Intermediate Period. It is in light of the deceased, with traces of mummification and a few fragments preserved sarcophagus, and his companions: about 400 ushabti. Just less than half a day and the news makes the rounds of Luxor in the evening, for the locals, the canopies have become five statues. Inspectors ask us to do a press release to the SCA. The statement is read by news agencies. The ANSA news public before it has time to write a few lines of this journal. Maybe it's a little discovery that has had a major impact. Certainly there is the satisfaction of knowing that more and more people will find that out here here we are and the area occupied by the Temple of Millions of Years of Amenhotep II still has a lot to tell. |
AuthorI live amongst the lovely people here in Luxor. I enjoy being on the spot when there are new finds and discoveries. Archives
