Gobly (meaning South) was set up in May 2014. It is at present registering and setting itself up as a charity.
Here in Luxor we have the heritage and culture, we have art everywhere. How could we create an image for ourselves to attract the right people? Dr. Hatem’s Passion and dream is to use the local heritage and culture and to project it through art to move beyond the normal touristic activities here in Luxor and perhaps as an alternative that can get the local children involved from early ages.

Today's workshop was at the their own place in Roska. It was an advanced workshop but there were some younger children having a good time.
We started the first year 2014 with workshops in the streets with kids in different areas and villages. We simply spread art in the streets to discover their talents. We made two workshops a month. I put some money up; other volunteers put money up and some foreigners. To now we have made twenty-three workshops all in different places and with different children. We are welcoming other charities or schools that can offer us materials for the kids. The second year, this year, we continue with workshops in the street plus advanced workshops in art and sculptor, murals, jewelry and photography. Cultural organizations and a big one in Cairo help fund us.
On 26th October, we had twelve kids that started in September and will continue until November when we will have an exhibition. We have a small place in Roska, not very expensive. The last six workshops, I had three volunteers from fine arts plus five workshops I did on my own. We also have some children that help us to pass it on to the others. I don’t have any problem with it being local children to help us. Our vision is simply to create a vital living space, a place to live, to work, and to relax.
There are no age groups but for our advanced workshops, it’s from twelve to eighteen. We have two street workshops a month and we have two advanced workshops a week in sculptor.
Their Workshops are worth a visit. You can get their details from their Facebook or Website at the following.
