New Corniche - East Bank - North
Sadly the new Corniche on the East Bank is no nearer to completion than it was a year ago. It is not surprising in this latest climate and since the lack of tourism and money available since the revolution. It does however still look very nice. It is easy to sea and imagine what it will be like when the traders shop units along with cafes, souvenir shops and restaurants will be occupied and open and it to be busy with people both tourists and locals taking their strolls, sitting and enjoying the Nile views and taking refreshments. It will give them a reason to walk the lengthy new Corniche. It really is looking quite good. There are well kept grass arrears with shrubs, plants, flowers and cactus's. It just needs to be filled with the traders to get it all going. There is at each end a wonderfully designed water fountain complex that you can sit around.
Even though this Corniche is not finished, there are the usual felucca and motor boat men plying their business and locals swimming in the Nile.
