Tuthmosis II – Temple Site Ruin - Medinet Habu
Tuthmosis II Temple site near to the Ticket Office.
(Thutmosis) or (Tuthmosis) or (Thoth) Fourth Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty - Reigned 1493 to 1479 BC!. Son of Tuthmosis I - Married his fully royal half-sister, Hatshepsut at an early age.
A small area containing sandstone blocks, very few with reliefs and some were found showing Tuthmosis name. There could very well be further stones under the local rubbish or even in the private areas of the nearby homes. Apparently the temple was completed and re-used by his son Tuthmosis III. I would expect that much of this temple has been taken and re-used for much later buildings.
