Dra Abu El Naga - West Bank
It was an amazing day of good fortune and luck. I was doing my rounds when I noticed a work force near to Hawy Tomb TT14 at Dra Abu El-Naga. Naturally my nose was twitching to know what was going on there. It turned out not to be anything to do with Hawy but some tomb further up the hill. I have often stopped by the Guardians hut here to get the news of what is happening and have tea with them. After the workforce had left I went back to have a look around.

The Hawy tomb will be worked on by an Italian team but have no date as yet.
Five false doors leading to unknown tomb.
As with most tombs here, there are the usual pyramids built over the top of them as with the Antif. To the right are the five false doorways that lead to the tomb; yet unknown. Inside there are many coloured walls with paintings and one room with mummies.

A German team are working on this tomb.
Sadly the mummy skeletons are naked and were probably stripped back in antiquity by people looking for gold and jewellery. In this tomb there are various pieces of artifacts like pottery and what might have been clothing; certainly the mummy wrappings. It is sad that as yet they do not know who they are. There are many rooms inside and some with coloured walls and drawings. There is also a massively deep shaft, know telling how deep.
On my walk I passed Amenemopet Tomb - TT148. There are many tombs in this area and it is amazing just how many there are still to be excavated or already have been. Its vast.
Djehuty Site - TT11 as seen from the top of the hill. Normally no one gets the chance to see it from this height. A Spanish team are working on this and will back in a few weeks time.
At the top of the hill is a Coptic area with graveyard opposite.

Many surfaces are covered for protection. A German team are working this site.
These are the wonderful views from the top of the hill.
There are many pits.
Clearly this site is being worked on and may have been where the workforce was that I noticed.
