El-Gharby Wadi - The Other End - Theban Hills - Luxor
I walked half the El-Gharby (Gharbi) wadi in 2013 (see article 13th December 2013 - Gharbi Wadi - West Bank at)

Today I decided to walk the rest of the wadi to its end. Again, I got my motorbike as close as I could before having to walk the two-kilometers to the end.
El-Gharby Wadi is located between Gabbanat el-Qurud wadi and Bariya wadi more to the south. It is 3.5 kilometers long from its mouth to the end.
It was a great walk, stunning scenery, rock formation and colours. There was evidence of many footprints made by previous walkers. There were some wonderful rock shapes sculptured by ancient flash flooding that had left its artwork in the rock formations. A little way in on the left, there are some white painted graffiti.
As you can imagine in such a wadi/valley, there was the total silence, not even birds could be heard until I got to the very end. The walk is slightly rough under foot in parts but is quite manageable. The cliff faces are very high in some parts of the wadi and has boulders and rocks spawn across the wadi floor. As in all wadis, I Like to make a noise when walking and climbing near rocks and try to avoid holes or cracks where there might be a snake or scorpion, if there are any here.
No known tombs to date have been found here.
